August's Blue Supermoon

Posted by Raquel Paulo on

On August 30th, 2023, at 9:36pmEST, we will experience a blue supermoon. This is relatively rare occurance, and some believe that it amplifies the effects of the full moon, making it a potent time for transformation and growth.

The blue moon will likely resemble past blue moons, emphasizing manifestation, amplification, release and new beginnings. This blue supermoon represents strength, generosity, knowledge and brings with it strong emotions, making us wonder about what is important in life. This is a great time to follow your heart, desires and dreams. Emotions can be extreme during the full moon, and full moon energy can manifest in different ways—you may feel creative, anxious, sensitive, or exhausted. The full moon is connected to all things emotional and represents the deepest parts of ourselves: our spiritual nature and subconscious mind. On a spiritual level, your intuition, creativity, and emotions are generally running hot during a full moon.

Gemstones that are beneficial for a full moon, are:

  • Amethyst is believed to be beneficial for the full moon because it is associated with spiritual growth and protection. It is also believed to help with emotional balance and clarity
  • Rose quartz is believed to be beneficial for the full moon because it is associated with love and emotional balance. It is also believed to help with self-love and forgiveness
  • Tigers Eye is believed to be beneficial for the full moon because it is associated with grounding and protection. It is also believed to help with courage and confidence
  • Labradorite is believed to be beneficial for the full moon because it is associated with transformation and intuition. It is also believed to help with spiritual growth and protection

Cleansing gemstones during a full moon is a popular practice. The full moon is believed to be a powerful time for cleansing and recharging gemstones. To cleanse your gemstones during a full moon, you can place them outside or on a windowsill where they will be exposed to the moonlight. You can also place them in a bowl of saltwater or bury them in the earth.
